JIH Medak Launch Relief Operations in Flood Affected Medak Villages

In a coordinated response to recent floods that have left rural communities struggling, the Medak chapter of Jamaat-e-Islami Hind (JIH) has partnered with local civic leaders to deliver critical aid to the hard-hit villages of Sardhana and Haveli Ghanapur. The initiative provided essential food supplies to families isolated by waterlogged and impassable roads.

The region has been reeling from the impact of severe monsoon rains, which inundated low-lying areas, disrupted livelihoods, and severed access to markets and essential services for many residents. The relief operation was organized to address the immediate needs of those most affected, particularly the elderly and families with limited resources.

The logistical undertaking was significant. The operation began with sourcing bulk quantities of essential staples like rice, lentils, and cooking oil. Volunteers then gathered at a central point to meticulously assemble family ration kits. The most challenging phase was the final-mile distribution, where teams had to navigate treacherous, mud-caked rural roads in vehicles to ensure the supplies reached remote households.

The ground operation was led by a dedicated delegation from Jamaat-e-Islami Hind Medak. The team included members Syed Aziz Ahmed, Mohd Ameeruddin, Imran Mohiuddin, Khaja Hafeez Muhiuddin, Mohd Israr Ahmed Khan, Syed Sadath Ali Zaki, and nominated member Syed Ahtesham. Their efforts were bolstered by the active participation of other prominent community figures, including Mohd Omer Khan (MMA), Zubair Ahmed (MMA), Shaikh Ahmed (Human Rights), Mohd Imran (Teacher), and Saleem, who all worked tirelessly to manage the complex distribution process.

A key factor in the success of the mission was the strategic collaboration between JIH and the local village administration. Sardhana's Vice Sarpanch, Ramchander Rao, and Haveli Ghanapur's former Sarpanch, Srikanth, played an instrumental role. Their intimate knowledge of the local geography and demography enabled the team to compile an accurate list of the most vulnerable families, ensuring that the aid was distributed equitably and efficiently.
