Medak, Telangana:
In the aftermath of the devastating floods that struck Medak district, displacing hundreds of families and leaving many without shelter, the Jamaat-e-Islami Hind (JIH) Medak cadre has stepped forward in collaboration with the government’s relief efforts to provide essential support. On Thursday, the organisation helped with the food distribution for flood victims at Venkateshwara Function Hall, while also supplying food kits and blankets to those in need.
Volunteers from JIH Medak worked tirelessly alongside other organisations to ensure timely aid reached the displaced families who had taken refuge at the function hall. The victims, including women, children, and the elderly, queued up as hot meals, dry ration kits, and blankets were distributed.
“Our duty is to stand by the people in times of hardship. Providing food, warmth, and comfort to those who have lost so much is the least we can do. We will continue our efforts until affected families are able to return to their homes,” said one of the volunteers.
The atmosphere at the hall reflected both the challenges of displacement and the strength of solidarity. While flood victims bore visible signs of distress, the warmth and service of the volunteers brought a sense of relief and hope.
Beyond food distribution, Jamaat-e-Islami Hind Medak is also coordinating with local authorities to explore further relief measures, including medical assistance, clothing, and rehabilitation support for the affected families.
